Job Description

Courtyard by Marriott is hiring a Demi Chef de Partie – Atrium to join its culinary team in Kuwait City on a full-time, on-site basis.

The successful candidate will prepare and cook food according to approved recipes, quality standards and presentation guidelines. The role also involves monitoring food quality and quantity, maintaining food preparation records and supporting smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in hotel or restaurant kitchens and the ability to work efficiently as part of a professional culinary team.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare special meals and substitute food items when required.
Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes and preparation checklists.
Follow established quality and food presentation standards.
Prepare cold foods, appetizers and other menu items.
Regulate the temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters.
Remove food from freezer storage and thaw it safely in refrigerators.
Ensure correct food portions, arrangement and garnishing.
Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
Maintain accurate food preparation and production logs.
Inform the Chef of excess food items that may be used for daily specials.
Inform Food and Beverage service employees about menu specials and unavailable items.
Communicate any additional assistance required during busy service periods.
Ensure all food items meet Marriott’s quality expectations and standards.
Assist with training, coaching and motivating kitchen employees when required.
Follow all company safety, security and food hygiene procedures.
Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions.
Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance.
Protect company property and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
Anticipate and respond to guests’ service needs.
Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and team members.
Develop positive working relationships and support the team in achieving common goals.
Perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Requirements & Skills

Technical, trade or vocational school qualification in culinary arts or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in cooking, hotel kitchens or restaurant operations.
Experience preparing and cooking both hot and cold food items.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and food quality standards.
Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow recipes, preparation checklists and presentation standards.
Previous supervisory experience is not required.
No specific license or professional certification is required.
Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, twist, pull, reach and stoop during kitchen operations.
Ability to move, lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds, approximately 11 kilograms, without assistance.
