🌟 Job Overview
The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and purchasing technical materials, equipment and services required for company projects and operations.

The role requires close coordination with engineering, project management, quality and finance teams to ensure that all procurement activities meet technical specifications, quality standards, budget requirements and delivery schedules.

The successful candidate will review engineering documentation, issue procurement requests, evaluate supplier offers, negotiate commercial terms and monitor purchase orders through manufacturing and final delivery.

🔹 Key Responsibilities
🔺 Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and bills of quantities to identify procurement requirements.
🔺 Source and prequalify local and international suppliers, manufacturers and service providers.
🔺 Evaluate suppliers based on technical compliance, quality, price and delivery capabilities.
🔺 Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation, Requests for Proposal and Requests for Information.
🔺 Conduct detailed technical and commercial comparisons of supplier quotations.
🔺 Participate in bid evaluation, supplier selection and award recommendations.
🔺 Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and contractual conditions.
🔺 Prepare purchase orders and verify quantities, specifications, prices and commercial terms.
🔺 Follow up on order confirmations, manufacturing progress, shipment and delivery schedules.
🔺 Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to ensure materials and equipment comply with project requirements.
🔺 Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, procurement or delivery issues.
🔺 Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures and ethical standards.
🔺 Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, reports and supporting documentation.
🔺 Conduct cost analysis and support procurement budgeting and cost-control activities.
🔺 Collaborate with engineering, finance and project teams to ensure timely availability of required materials and services.

Requirements & Skills

🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
🔹 Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer or in a similar technical procurement role.
🔹 Strong knowledge of engineering materials, equipment and technical specifications.
🔹 Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, BOQs and technical documentation.
🔹 Experience preparing RFQs and evaluating technical and commercial offers.
🔹 Excellent negotiation, communication and supplier-management skills.
🔹 Ability to analyze technical and commercial information effectively.
🔹 Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
🔹 Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
🔹 Good written and spoken English skills.
