A Business Development Executive (BDE) focuses on growing a company’s revenue, market reach, and client base. Their role blends sales, strategy, relationship-building, and market analysis.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting
• Identify potential clients through research, networking, cold calling, and digital platforms
• Generate and qualify leads to build a strong sales pipeline
• Maintain a database of prospects and opportunities
2. Client Relationship Management
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients
• Understand customer needs and offer suitable solutions
• Act as a point of contact for client communication
3. Sales & Revenue Growth
• Pitch products/services to potential clients
• Negotiate contracts and close deals
• Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets
• Upsell and cross-sell to existing clients
4. Market Research & Analysis
• Study market trends, competitors, and customer behavior
• Identify new business opportunities and emerging markets
• Provide insights to improve products or services
5. Strategic Planning
• Develop business growth strategies and action plans
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams
• Help define pricing, positioning, and sales strategies
6. Proposal & Presentation Preparation
• Prepare business proposals, presentations, and reports
• Customize pitches according to client requirements
• Present solutions professionally to stakeholders
7. Networking & Partnerships
• Attend industry events, meetings, and conferences
• Build partnerships with other businesses or stakeholders
• Expand company visibility and brand presence
8. Reporting & Performance Tracking
• Track sales metrics and performance indicators
• Prepare regular reports for management
• Use CRM tools to monitor progress and pipeline
